Stand Up for Haverhill’s Public Schools

A national charter school chain wants to open a 240-seat Wildflower Montessori Charter School in Haverhill. This would divert more than $1 million a year in taxpayer money to a privately run school when our own public schools are already underfunded and underresourced.

On February 12, 2019, this year's round of charter school applications came to an end on Tuesday, with no new charters granted. The Board of Education did not approve the Wildflower Charter School. The battle has been won but this may come up again as the program renews its application for another try.
