Join the CARE Initiative
Community Aligned Response Essentials (CARE) is a statewide mutual aid and community care effort supporting small businesses, workers, and neighbors across Massachusetts.
CARE is about sharing essentials: knowledge, practical tools, and mutual support so that the places where we work, shop, gather, and connect feel informed, confident, and empowered - especially when government agencies or authorities visit shared spaces.
This initiative centers community-aligned preparation and collective confidence, giving workplaces and neighbors the tools to handle challenging moments without feeling isolated or pressured.
Why CARE Matters
Strengthens community connection and mutual aid
Builds shared understanding of workplace rights and responsibilities
Helps workers and business owners feel confident in everyday operations
Supports public spaces where people gather, shop, eat, and organize
How You Can Stay Connected
Signing up for our interest form is the easiest way to stay updated and plugged into the CARE network. By signing up, you’ll receive:
Updates on CARE as it grows across Massachusetts
Invitations to orientations, trainings, and events
Opportunities to volunteer, participate as a workplace, or partner with CARE
CARE in Action
Workplaces that choose to engage more formally can become CARE Certified Workplaces, which may include:
Reviewing and signing an employer pledge to consider the protocols and procedures outlined in CARE
All-staff discussions or orientation sessions
Reviewing workplace areas and boundaries
Establishing clear internal procedures
Receiving and reviewing a CARE workplace readiness packet
Sharing CARE participation with staff and the broader community
Inviting other workplaces to learn about the initiative
Workplaces do not need to complete every step to participate. CARE is about practical guidance, preparation, and community support, not perfection.
Volunteer & Partner Opportunities
CARE thrives on the energy and support of community members, volunteers, and organizations. Volunteers help by:
Sharing information with small businesses and neighborhood spaces
Supporting language access through translation or interpretation
Assisting with outreach, communications, and storytelling
Helping with orientations, events, and partner coordination
Collecting feedback and tracking participation
Every contribution helps build a Community Aligned Response that keeps workplaces, workers, and neighbors informed and supported.
