Coordinating with partners Massachusetts Education Justice Alliance (MEJA) and others, JWJ is working to pass Fair Funding legislation to implement the recommendations of the Foundation Budget Review Commission to significantly increase state funding for public schools.

Parents Union of Massachusetts, which falls under the umbrella of Massachusetts Jobs with Justice, works to establish education equity and public school reform, and as lead parent organizer, Medina helps other parents navigate school systems and works with them to get access to services such as IEPs and bilingual ed. The organization also provides information on housing and helps parents understand their rights.
The MTA now has GRAPHICS (sized for Facebook) and FLIERS (downloadable and printable) on the FOF site. These are for all districts, except the 9 who for complicated reasons do not get an increase under the Promise Act.

As Massachusetts lawmakers continue to debate how to change a 26-year-old school funding formula, one local parent feels there is no time to sit and wait.
The Massachusetts Education Justice Alliance has spent this past summer asking the question “how long must our students wait for fully funded schools?
Mass Budget released their updated report Towards Equity: School Funding Reform in Massachusetts on Chapter 70 funding. The report compares the different bills in front of the legislature.
On March 22, 2019 jwJ and allies were out in force at the Massachusetts State House fighting for Massachusetts Children. Educators, parents and students filled Gardner with overflow seating into the Great Hall where people watch a livestream.
