Coordinating with partners Massachusetts Education Justice Alliance (MEJA) and others, JWJ is working to pass Fair Funding legislation to implement the recommendations of the Foundation Budget Review Commission to significantly increase state funding for public schools.

Mass Budget released their updated report Towards Equity: School Funding Reform in Massachusetts on Chapter 70 funding. The report compares the different bills in front of the legislature.
On March 22, 2019 jwJ and allies were out in force at the Massachusetts State House fighting for Massachusetts Children. Educators, parents and students filled Gardner with overflow seating into the Great Hall where people watch a livestream.
There is a lot going on in the State House these days! Thanks to the activism and advocacy of folks like you, lawmakers have filed some very exciting bills that, if they get passed, could hold Massachusetts accountable to defending workers on the job and investing in the communities we live in. Learn more about these bills and help get them passed by asking your representatives to co-sponsor.
The latest push in the years-long effort to reform the school funding formula will take on more shape this week, with advocates, educators and lawmakers gathering for a press conference in support of a bill that will likely be filed on Tuesday.

We will be calling and writing to our legislators to encourage their support on the Promise and Cherish acts. The proposed acts would increase funding for public school education by more than $1.5 billion a year.

Bring your toddlers and kiddos to join us for a Playdate Protest in Springfield's Court Square for Fund our Future! We'll have music, fun and games and Arts & Crafts. And of course, a big rally for education funding on the steps of Springfield City Hall!!
Bring your toddlers and kiddos to join for a Playdate protest for Fund our Future! We will have a singing and music circle, Chalk-in, and card-making to ask our legislators to fund our children's future. If you are able to join us afterwards at 4:30 we will go into the State House to drop off the cards and then join the big rally on the Boston Common at 5:00pm!
Help make our presence known at the State House prior to the 5 p.m. #FundOurFuture rally. This is a great opportunity to let your state rep and senator know how important it is that they take action to pass our two key education funding bills, the Promise Act and the Cherish Act, this year. A variety of activities are being planned including legislative visits, a children's action and a march. Lunch will be served.
