Thanks to this massive support, this morning we re-filed our petition to hold a union election!
We hope that President Aoun will reconsider his position that we are managers and instead follow established legal precedent which holds that full-time non-tenure track faculty at private universities have the right to unionize. He and the rest of the administration now have a choice: they can either listen to your call, along with the calls of elected officials and students, to allow an election to take place, or they cancontinue to deny our right to vote.
Tomorrow, we will make this choice clear to the entire Northeastern community. At 3:30pm, we will gather on the steps outside Ruggles Station (on the Renaissance Park/ Columbus Ave. side) and march through campus, joined by students and members of the Boston community, to ask President Aoun to respect our right to a free and fair union election.
If you are able to attend, your support would speak volumes as we seek to make this call loudly and put a spotlight on the administration's decision.
