Somerville needs union jobs!
Powerful billionaires are using the Supreme Court case Janus v. AFSCME to try to divide us and further rig the economy against working people. We won't let them. We're standing up to win the good, union jobs Somerville needs.
Labor and community supporters will gather to support the Union Square Neighborhood Council and to win a strong Community Benefits Agreement. Development in Union Square must result the good union jobs and affordable housing that Somerville needs.
The Union Square developer, US2 is required to negotiate a community benefits agreement with the neighborhood council prior to the redevelopment of Union Square. Somerville Stands Together believes that no eminent domain land should be transferred to the developer until these good faith negotiations have been completed.
Join Somerville Stands Together on July 9 to support Union Square residents, workers and business owners to negotiate a strong community benefits agreement with the developers and allow the profits of the development to benefit the broader community.
