Justice Cup/Copa de Justicia 2018

  • Florence Recreation Fields 155 Spring St. Florence MA (map)

The fourth annual Justice Cup/Copa Justicia soccer tournament will take place on October 8th, 2018, Indigenous Peoples Day. We want to reclaim this day with a festival together and honor our member-workers, many of whom are part of indigenous communities, who have resisted for generations.

Register here!

Whether you’re a competitive player or enjoy kicking around the ball with your friends, there is a way for you to participate. All skill levels are welcome!

There will be food from local vendors, exciting prizes, activities for kids, music, and a social justice resource fair to learn about all the great organizations and businesses in the Valley!

HOW IT WORKS:
Sign up: Create a soccer team of 5-10 players or sign up as an individual and we will assign you to a team.

Pick a division: Competitive, Just for Fun, or Family.
If registering as a team, pick a team name and designate a Team Captain to stay in touch with the planning crew.
You will be guaranteed 3-5 games depending on registration numbers. The games will be 5 vs 5 with small goals and no goalie. Each game will be 30 minutes long with two 15-minute halves. All players/teams are expected to bring a light and dark team jersey. There will be a strict no slide-tackling rule.
Amateur referees will call the games.

Proceeds from the event will be used to support the critical organizing of Mass JwJ and its 70+ coalition members are doing for workers’ rights and economic justice in Western Mass. It will also benefit the work of the Pioneer Valley Workers Center organizing to build power among Immigrant Rights and Low Wage workers rights!
