Massachusetts Jobs with Justice is a coalition member of the Raise Up Massachusetts. The Fair Share Amendment is a proposal to amend the Massachusetts Constitution, creating an additional tax of four percentage points on the portion of a person’s annual income that is above $1 million. The new revenue generated by the tax would be spent on quality public education, affordable public colleges and universities, and the repair and maintenance of roads, bridges, and public transportation. To ensure that the tax continues to apply only to the highest-income taxpayers, the $1 million threshold would be adjusted each year to reflect cost-of-living increases.
Massachusetts Jobs with Justice (www.massjwj.net) is seeking an organizer to coordinate and carry out our public education parent organizing work, including direct parent organizing and leadership development, coalition building with Mass Education Justice Alliance, and campaign planning and execution of the “Fund our Future” campaign.
The Organizer will work with MA Jobs with Justice staff, MEJA coalition members, educators and community members to carry out the work of our coalition and participate fully in the planning and implementation of our work-plan as outlined by our Steering and Executive Committee. The Organizer will work under the supervision of our Co-Directors based in our headquarters in Boston.Read More
