Health Care Should
Be a RIGHT, Not a Privilege!
It is Covering
the Uninsured Week and you can do something no one else in the United States can
do - secure every Massachusetts resident access to affordable and comprehensive
coverage for health and mental health care. Please call your state senator and state representative and
ask them to make sure the Health Care Constitutional Amendment comes up for a
vote on May 10th and to make their vote "YES". By taking 5 minutes to make those calls you'll be acting on what all of
us believe – that Health Care should be a RIGHT for every Massachusetts
resident. Please call right now. Ask your
legislators to bring the Health Care Amendment up for a vote on May 10th so
you'll get a chance to vote on it this November. Not sure who your legislators
are? Click here. After you make
your calls, please reply to this email. We need to know how many calls each
legislator received so we can plan our follow-up.
Also See May 9th for Rally to
Pass the Amendment!
WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS – The Health Care
Constitutional Amendment Campaign is in the last stretch before going to the
ballot in November. We have thousands of postcards to sort, process and enter
into a database and we need your person power to do it! Join us TONIGHT,
Tuesday (5/2), and Wednesday (5/3) and Thursday (5/4) of this week from
6:00-8:00pm at the Amendment headquarters, located at 649 Mass. Ave, Suite 8 in
Central Square, Cambridge. Next Monday and Tuesday evenings (May 8 & 9) will
also be major volunteer nights! Please come out and help! For more information,
contact AFlores@massjwj.net or mcarr@healthcareformass.org.
VERY IMPORTANT! If you collected
postcards over the past month in support of the Health Care Constitutional
Amendment, PLEASE RETURN THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! We distributed over
20,000 postcards and have only gotten back about half that number. In order for
the postcards to have any impact, they need to be delivered. And before they
can be delivered, we have to process and sort them. Please do your best to drop
them off at 649 Mass. Ave, Suite 8 in Central Square, Cambridge 02139. If you
absolutely cannot drop them off, overnight mail them immediately to the
Cambridge address. We can also arrange for a pickup, but the first two options
are best. Call Michael Carr at 617-868-1280 if you have any
questions.
