Personal care attendants (PCAs) who
care for the elderly and people with disabilities in Massachusetts have voted to join 1199SEIU in what was the
largest union election in New England history.
Consumers, advocates and senior and disability rights groups were pivotal in
pushing legislation that allowed PCAs to form a union. The 94% favorable vote
result was announced at a press conference yesterday, and a video news release
