Dear Representative_______________ ,
In Conference Committee, I hope you will help us achieve a true "Community First" state---where there are no waiting lists in the home care program and rate increases are granted annually for home-based services--just like the nursing facilities get. Please tell Chairman Dempsey that we want the Senate to recede to the House version, which is nearly $500,000 higher for home care, and $1.33 M higher for ECOP.
CAUTION: Even with the higher House numbers for ECOP and home care, we will have waiting lists in both programs for the entirety of FY 2013. It doesn't seem right or fair that the programs seniors want the most, are the very programs that struggle the most with waiting lists.
My preferences for Conference Committee are attached. You will see that in some items I favor the Senate, and in some I favor the House. But in all items I favor the seniors who want to living at home independently, and the workers who care for them daily.
Please send my attached list of priorities on to the Speaker and House Ways & Means--and let them know you want to see Massachusetts truly become a "Community First" state, where seniors don't have to deal with waiting lists any more!
