News: Support Verizon Workers Campaign
Tell Congress to support The United States Call Center Worker and Consumer Protection Bill
With American families struggling, it's time for companies to bring good jobs home. Foreign call centers not only ship jobs abroad, but they endanger our confidential personal information because they operate without US data regulation.
Delegations to Support Verizon Workers
Saturday, December 10th
Verizon Wireless Stores and Verizon Locations across the US
We will be visiting Verizon Wireless stores to deliver a letter and a message to Verizon to respect workers rights. Verizon has bragged that they want to set back collective bargaining 50 years. We believe in Human Rights in the workplace and that starts with treating workers with dignity and respect by bargaining fairly. The letter you will deliver has the collected signatures of local leaders who support this message.
Here is how you do it!
- Talk to a couple of friends, neighbors, relatives, coworkers, or member to see who is in.
- This is up to you, so you pick when and where you want to do it, you can even deliver the letter while doing your holiday shopping!
- You pick the time and the store that your delegation want visit on December 10th. You can select a store by clicking here and finding one near you.
- download the letter and directions below.
- After you do your delegation, email Jenn at Jobs with Justice with how it went.
This set of delegations will be the kick off escalation in support of Verizon workers. There will be delegation days for Veterans, Retirees, Young Workers, and Community leaders all winter so stay tuned for more info!
