On Valentine’s Day—Tell Senators Kerry & Brown: No More Cuts! Tax the 1%! End the Wars! Invest in Jobs!

On November 15th, 2011, the Mass Alliance for HUD Tenants delivered 4,500 letters from tenants, peace groups, labor unions, community or-ganizations, and Boston voters to Senators Kerry and Brown. They called for both Senators to make oppose further Budget Cuts in Washington DC.

Their demands:

  1. Make the wealthy 1% and corporate tax cheats pay their fair share
  2. No cuts to Social Security, Medicare, housing & other vital programs
  3. End the wars, bring the troops home and cut military spending
  4. Create jobs and get people back to work

BOTH Senators PROMISED to answer EVERY letter! Yet they have yet to hear from Sen. Kerry. Sen. Brown responded, but still opposes taxes on the rich. Meanwhile, Congress has ALREADY VOTED to cut 9% from a wide range of federal programs for the poor and middle class—from Section 8, education, unemployment, Public Housing, transportation and more!
