Photographer Mario Quiroz traveled through Massachusetts and shot 35 rolls of black and white film documenting immigrants who wanted to share their images and stories with the people of the Commonwealth. Welcoming Massachusetts has been hosting the receptions to this inspiring photo exhibit in Framingham (pictures here) and Fitchburg (pictures here), with the goal is to highlight at each opening and discussion, the positive contributions that immigrants bring to their communities. The exhibit includes images of people at adult education schools in Framingham, on the street in Chinatown, at businesses in East Boston, and in an Islamic mosque in Roxbury.

Opening reception: Friday, September 7, at 5:30pm
